Volkswagen shared a render of a very special vehicle on the occasion of World Design Day. In fact, it showed a picture of what the pickup version of the new Volkswagen ID. Electric buzz. The manufacturer did not say anything about the characteristics of this particular car but launched a kind of survey asking users what they thought.
There may be a future for an ID. Buzz pickup? Soon to understand but if the interest of users were to prove high, it is possible that Volkswagen may also think about it in the future.
As you can see, the design derives strictly from that of the ID Buzz Concept. It is, in fact, one of the unpublished drafts made during the development of this model. Volkswagen then modified the rear by introducing a body. Electric pickups are very popular especially in America and the ID. Buzz will also be sold in this market. You can imagine that the ID. Buzz in the pickup version shares the same powertrain as the ID. Buzz recently introduced. Hence, a single 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor with 310 Nm of torque, powered by an 82 kWh battery (77 kWh usable).
It must be said, however, that the ID. Buzz will be used to create different variations. We already know, in fact, that a camper version called ID will arrive. California. Furthermore, in the future a robotaxi version that we have talked about several times will debut which will be used to create a passenger transport service in some cities of Germany.
But if indeed Volkswagen in the future decides to make a pickup starting from the base of the ID. Buzz, would you like it if it had this design? Speaking of electric pickups, however, we already know that the German brand is evaluating a battery version of the new generation of the Amarok.
