Within a couple of weeks there will be a new, important player in both the folding smartphone and tablet market: vivo. The Chinese company is in fact now close to announcing vivo X Fold and vivo Pad, two devices that will put it in direct competition especially with Samsung, certainly the manufacturer that has so far shown the most muscles in these market segments with its Galaxy Z range. foldable and with Galaxy Tab tablets.
Waiting for the official launch, scheduled for April 11th, vivo has started to create some hype with two teasers that show both devices highlighting some aspects of the design.
VIVO X FOLD
As for the vivo X Fold, the teaser shows a device made with a back cover in vegan leathersimilar to the one used for the vivo X70 Pro (never arrived in Italy), and with a photographic compartment characterized by four sensors positioned inside a circular module set in turn in a rectangular glass insert.
Thanks to the collaboration undertaken at the end of 2020, this vivo X Fold will also benefit from ZEISS VARIO-TESSAR lenses, in this case the aspherical 1.75-3.4 / 14-125 lenses. According to rumors, the main sensor will be 50 megapixels flanked by a 48 megapixel one, a 12 megapixel one and an 8 megapixel one.
The opening mechanism would seem to be more similar to that adopted by OPPO for its Find N rather than that of the Galaxy Z Fold3. In the video, in fact, you can see the 8-inch internal display with UTG glass that forms a wider curvature that avoids having a more pronounced fold. The wallpaper used does not allow you to see the positioning of any internal camera.
To complete the hardware specifications there should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a 6.5-inch external screen with integrated ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and a 4,600 mah battery with support for fast charging wired at 80W and wireless at 50W.
VIVO PAD AND VIVO X80
In addition to this interesting X Fold, vivo is also planning a tablet, the vivo Pad. The video teaser confirms what was seen in the first images in recent days, that is a device characterized by an extremely thin design, four stereo speakersa dual camera rear photographic compartment with LED flash and a front camera integrated into the display frame, which should be an 11-inch LCD with resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and 120 Hz refresh rate.
According to rumors, among other hardware specifications there would be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor and one 7,860 mAh battery with support for fast charging at 44W.
In addition to these two devices, finally, vivo would also be close to the announcement of two new top of the range, X80 and X80 Pro, probably among the first with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor.
