UnipolMove challenges Telepass, a new electronic toll system arrives

The Telepass monopoly in Italy ends with the landing of UnipolMove which essentially replicates its philosophy and functioning. The debut comes just at a time when Telepass has announced its intention to increase its rates starting July 1st.

UnipolMove was developed by UnipolTech, a division of the Unipol Group. The device allows you to pay the motorway toll and not only on the Telepass model and can already be purchased. The Unipol Group will aim to leverage the customers of its insurance policies to promote the new device. Giacomo LovatiChief Beyond Insurance Officer of UnipolSai, on the launch of UnipolMove said:

We are the first operator to have obtained certification with the new European regulation of the European electronic toll service. Thus, strengthened by our 10 million car insurance customers to whom we can offer the product, we entered a market where until yesterday there were no alternatives.

UnipolMove, similar to Telepass, is a small box to be inserted inside the car. You can buy it online, through the UnipolSai app or by going to one of the UnipolSai agencies. The cost is 1 euro per month with the first 6 months free. Only one entrance panel can be associated with each device. In any case, by adding 50 euro cents per month it is possible to have a second device to be used on another vehicle. Private customers can associate a maximum of 2 devices with each contract. Business customers up to 5.

Interestingly, the fact that it is possible to withdraw from the contract at any time without having to pay any penalty. UnipolMove allows you to pay the motorway toll at toll booths bearing the European Telepass symbol. It also allows you to pay for restricted traffic areas, parking on blue lines, bills, fines, full fuel and car tax.

From their own reserved area accessible from the website or the app, customers will be able to consult the movements, manage the offer and receive assistance. In addition to all this, UnipolMove allows them to have access to a series of dedicated discounts at some companies of the Unipol Group.
