Warner Bros hit the bull’s-eye with its latest production on the Dark Knight. It matters little at this time of the delays related to the other films dedicated to DC Comics superheroes, the relevant data are the over 500 million dollars in earnings with the projection of The Batman worldwide. The film hit theaters earlier this month and it was enough just over two weeks to reach the remarkable goal.
They are almost equally divided between those attributable to the North American market (258.3 million dollars) and those obtained in international markets (247.5 million dollars). Such achievements allow The Batman to achieve several firsts and relevant positions compared to other films that have reached the cinema during the pandemic and previous WB productions:
- best international debut of a WB film in the period of the pandemic;
- best international debut of a WB film since Joker (October 2019);
- third best film debut in international markets during the pandemic: only Spider-Man: No Way Home ($ 1 billion in 12 days) and No Time To Die have done better than The Batman;
- best launch of a WB film worldwide in the period of the pandemic: 258.2 million dollars, of which 134 in the North American market. The film immediately reached the top of the charts in 62 markets, including Italy.
Warner Bros President Tomy Emmerich commented:
