Tata Motors presented the new Avinya electric concept car which anticipates the contents of a production car that will be presented by 2025. As for the name, it derives from Sanskrit and means “innovation”. This car rests on a platform dedicated to electric cars (Gen 3) and this allowed the technicians to have more freedom to draw its lines. From a design point of view it looks like a mix between a minivan and a crossover and is characterized by short overhangs, long wheelbase and large wheels.
The rims in particular feature an aerodynamically optimized design and somewhat resemble those of the Volkswagen ID.3. The light signature of the front optical groups is also very particular. It is worth noting that Tata Motors has decided to do away with side mirrors in favor of mounts that integrate cameras. This is a solution that we see more and more often and not only at the concept car level. This technical choice allows to further optimize the aerodynamics in order to obtain the maximum possible efficiency.
The passenger compartment is very spacious, also thanks to the long wheelbase, and has a minimalist design. The builder has highlighted that it has adopted sustainable materials for the interior design. No central infotainment display but one screen directly integrated into the steering wheel. The car also has a number of features that can be activated through voice commands.
As for the powertrain, however, the car manufacturer did not want to provide particular details. For the moment, we only know that the concept car has a battery capable of being able to recharge at very high power. In 30 minutes you will be able to have a range of 500 km.
As mentioned at the beginning, this concept car will be the basis for a production electric vehicle that will arrive by 2025. All that remains is to wait for more information on this project.
