As of the end of October 2021, Nintendo Switch Online got rich with the option Additional package: with a cost of 39.99 or 69.99 euros for the family format (up to eight accounts) it is possible to expand your subscription by obtaining additional contents such as the Animal Crossing DLC, that of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and even an exclusive catalog of games for Nintendo 64 and SEGA Mega Drive.
In recent months, the Kyoto giant has continued to enrich the offer, and if the last addition was dedicated to the SEGA console, for the one that arrives today instead Nintendo has fished at home. In fact, in the Easter egg of the Add-on package, there is Mario Golf 64, developed by Camelot and released in September 1999.
The title marked the beginning of the series (despite the fact that two games appeared on NES and Game Boy with a protagonist who looked a lot like Mario, but nominally untied from the mustachioed plumber), which, beyond the conversion for Game Boy Color, had then followed on Gamecube with Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, on Game Boy Advance, on 3DS in 2014 with World Tour and finally on Switch with the very recent Mario Golf: Super Rush, released last June.
Below is the official description of Mario Golf 64 provided by Nintendo:
Mario takes a well-deserved break from his role as the Mushroom Kingdom’s busiest hero and returns to the golf course for some world-class action. Since nobody likes hitting fairways alone, he has brought with him a group of friends, both familiar and some unseen.
Choose from 10 different game modes and six 18-hole courses in a variety of environments for a golf experience with infinite replay value. Add fun, colorful graphics with a Mario twist, intuitive controls, incredibly deep gameplay, and multiplayer support and you have a game that everyone will enjoy, even those who have never played golf!
