MINI Countryman, the new generation spied on at the Nurburgring

MINI the development work of the new generation of the Countryman is continuing through the classic road tests. Tests that can also be carried out on the track to verify the solutions related to the set-up, especially if sporty variants are envisaged. The new Countryman was spied on the track and precisely along the route of the Nurburgring. The car obviously still appears in disguise. However, some important elements are noted.

Indeed, the car has four tailpipes and alloy wheels with a more aggressive design. Furthermore, you can also notice some differences at the level of the front with the other prototypes seen so far. All elements that suggest that the car of the spy photos could be the MINI Countryman S or another high performance variant.

What engine can we find under the hood of this sporty variant of the Countryman? There are no precise information, but there are some rumors that speak of a Plug-in powertrain that in the most performing version would come to deliver 240 kW / 326 hp. This means that the new MINI Countryman, in this version, would become the most powerful MINI model ever.

Recall that the new MINI Countryman will rest on the FAAR platform of the BMW Group, the one that will be used on the future new BMW X1. Thanks to the new platform, the new MINI home model will also grow in size and not a little since it has been for some time we are talking about 200 mm more. This means there will be more space inside the passenger compartment. The new generation of the MINI Countryman will be produced in Leipzig, Germany. The launch is expected towards the end of the year or the beginning of 2023. A 100% electric variant will also arrive later.
