Mercedes announced that road tests of the Vision EQXX concept car, which had been presented earlier this year on the occasion of the CES 2022 in Las Vegas. The German manufacturer, through its social channels, has communicated that the prototype has taken to the road with the aim of further improve its efficiency. Certainly a very interesting novelty as just a few days ago the confirmation from the German brand arrived that the technology developed for this concept car it will then be used on future Mercedes electric cars.
In particular, the Vision EQXX should inspire a first C-segment model that should debut between 2024 and 2025. Car that many think could be the future EQC sedan. However, there will be a way to find out more since the debut is still a long time away.
Today, the Mercedes Vision EQXX is a 4-wheel “laboratory” through which the German manufacturer will be able to carry out tests on the new solutions it has developed. The fact that the brand wants to further improve the efficiency of the concept is interesting as it already has very sophisticated technologies. At the time of its presentation, Mercedes had talked about the great work done to design the Vision EQXX. Work that also involved technicians who came from Formula 1 and Formula E.

As we have seen, the Mercedes Vision EQXX can count on particularly sophisticated aerodynamics with a Cx of just 0.17. The powertrain is very interesting as the manufacturer has integrated a new generation battery of just under 100 kWh with an energy density of almost 400 Wh / the dimensions of 50% lower than those of the battery pack of the new EQS flagship. Car resting on a new platform with 900 V architecture.
All the work done on the concept car had allowed Mercedes to achieve a range of 1,000 km with consumption around 10 kWh / 100 km. It will therefore be very interesting to find out how the car manufacturer will be able to further improve the efficiency of the car. A job that will be very important for the future electric models of the German brand that will be able to take advantage of these new technologies. All that remains is to wait for the arrival of further news.
