Lightyear – Buzz’s True Story: Pixar Movie Shows Off In New Trailer

Last October Disney unveiled with a short trailer Lightyear – The True Story of Buzz, the next Pixar film that will tell the story of the Space Ranger made famous by the Toy Story saga. The approach is certainly interesting, since in this case the young Buzz will not be represented as a toy, but as a brave astronaut in flesh and blood.

Angus MacLane, who will direct the feature film, to explain the meaning of the operation said that the intention was to create “the movie that Andy saw (the child from Toy Story, ed) and why he wanted Buzz’s toy“.

And now, with the new trailer released today (you can find it below in the Italian version), we finally have a fuller taste of what the film will offer us, whose exit in Italian cinemas it is set for Wednesday June 15, 2022two days ahead of its US debut (scheduled for June 17 instead).

The trailer, in addition to introducing the companions who will help Buzz in his mission, also tells us that the Space Ranger this time will have to deal with the dangers and dizziness of another dimension.

Self in Toy Story in fact the perspective of the toys distorted the spacemaking the home environment full of challenges and impossible heights, in Lightyear – The true story of Buzz not only the spatial dimension will expand further, assuming cosmic proportions, but the alteration of the temporal plane will also be important.

The narrative premise, in fact, sees Buzz (who in the US version will be voiced by Chris Evans) travel forward in time by about 62 years, a bit like Matthew McConaughey in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.

Finally, it should be noted that unlike what was hypothesized in the previous months, the film will arrive in June exclusively in cinemas, and is therefore not expected to launch at the same time on Disney +.
