BMW i7, the new electric flagship spied at the Nurburgring

The new BMW i7 will officially debut towards the end of this April. The new electric flagship will be a very important model for the German manufacturer as it will have all the most advanced technologies that the brand has developed. This pattern has now been intercepted during a session test on the Nurburgring track. Thanks to a video from the YouTube channel Automotive Mike, there is a further possibility of being able to observe the shapes of the new car.

Obviously, the car still appears disguised but you can, however, notice some details such as the headlights divided into two levels (solution similar to that of the BMW XM) and the large double kidney. What powertrain will the German carmaker’s new electric flagship have?

The brand speaks generically of a powertrain of over 600 hp but it is said that the BMW i7 should be equipped with the powertrain of the BMW iX M60 which has two engines capable of delivering a total of 455 kW / 619 hp. As for autonomyfor the moment we can only report what is written on the manufacturer’s website where it is indicated a distance of 580-610 km according to the WLTP cycle (energy consumption in kWh / 100 km: 19.7 – 18.9).

The new BMW i7 rests on the CLAR modular platform and it will also offer a lot of technology and a lot of luxury. We cannot fail to mention that inside the passenger compartment, rear passengers will have a 31-inch maxi screen with a maximum resolution of 8K that can be used for services related to entertainment.

The infotainment system (5G support) will be able to count on the new iDrive 8 platform and will obviously support OTA updates. In the past, the brand had also talked about the great work that has been done to be able to offer the occupants maximum comfort when traveling. In a few weeks, therefore, we will finally be able to discover the secrets of the electric flagship. BMW will also debut the new 7 Series which will also be equipped with a Plug-in powertrain.
