Bad Sisters: New thriller / comedy series coming to Apple TV +

Bad Sisters is a new TV series coming to Apple TV Plus: the Cupertino streaming platform has just announced the cast and offered a first image. It will be an adaptation of a Belgian TV series that has been quite successful in the local market, which is called Clan. The showrunner and main creator is Sharon Horgan, an actress and screenwriter who created (and starred in) moderately successful series such as Catastrophe, Pulling and Divorce. This is the main cast:

  • Sharon Horgan
  • Anne-Marie Duff (Suffragette, Shameless, Sex Education)
  • Eva Birthistle (Brooklyn, Five Daughters)
  • Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful, Black 47, Ransom)
  • Eve Hewson (daughter of Bono of U2; This Must Be The Place, Bridge of Spies, Tesla)

Other cast members include:

  • Claes Bang (Millennium: The One Who Doesn’t Kill, Dracula 2020 miniseries)
  • Brian Gleeson (Peaky Blinders)
  • Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders)
  • Assaad Bouab (Call my agent !, Messiah)
  • Saise Quinn

The series will be structured in ten episodes and will tell the story of the five Garvey sisters (the main actresses shown in the photo, in fact), linked by the premature death of their parents and the promise to always protect each other. The genre is described as a cross between thriller and comedy. This project is also the result of one of the many “first look” agreements that Apple has entered into with a large number of production companies, including Merman, founded by Sharon Horgan. For the moment there are no details on the timing of the release.
