Audio rangedistributor for Italy of Arcam products, announced the availability ofAVR5 amplifier. This model is in addition to the other electronics intended forhome cinema, namely AVR10, AVR20 and AVR30. AVR5 is equipped with an amplification in Class AB capable of delivering 60 W into 8 ohms or 85 W into 4 ohms (7 channels driven, 1kHz, 0.2% harmonic distortion).
All major audio formats are obviously supported up to Dolby Atmos And DTS: X with configurations to 7.1.4 channels. If you use Dolby Digital or DTS tracks as a starting point, you can apply an upxmix to expand the sound vertically by reconstructing the missing channels. The digital-to-analog conversion is entrusted to 2 ESS ES9026PRO DACthe same ones we find in the AVR30 model.
Connectivity offers multiple options: the Bluetooth with aptX HDWi-Fi and Ethernet, the function Google Cast which replicates the capabilities of a Chromecast, Spotify Connect And AirPlay 2. You can then listen to the songs in the format MQA and control the functions and playback of streaming music services, local network files, internet radios and podcasts via the MusicLife app for iOS and Android.
The amplifier is designed for Dirac Live, after purchasing the appropriate software and a microphone, generally the UMIK-1 miniDSP model. It is therefore an optional feature that is used to enable environmental acoustic correction through the Dirac software. AVR5 is also Roon Ready and therefore allows subscribers to take advantage of its interface, to integrate into multi-room systems and to consult all the information on the music in their personal library, on Qobuz and Tidal.
They are present on the latest addition to the Arcam family 7 HDMI 2.0b inputs and 2 outputs which support Ultra HD signals up to 60Hz, HDR10, HLG And Dolby Vision. On the main exit there is also eARC, the only function of HDMI 2.1 supported (here we talk about it in detail). Arcam has foreseen the possibility of carrying out an update to replace the ports with HDMI 2.1 through a future intervention at a service center.
Other available connections include RCA outputs for all channels, 6 analog, 4 coaxial, 3 optical inputs and the antenna for FM and DAB radio. AVR5 is offered at the price of 2,499 euros but it is already discounted on some online stores, such as Audio Qualitya long-time partner of ours for tests and insights on TVs, projectors and audio products.
