International Smart City Business Manager, Doxa Innova&Smart
Maria Galindo (Barcelona, Spain. 1982) is International Smart City Business Manager at Doxa Innova&Smart where she runs international Smart city and territory projects.
Previously, she worked at the Barcelona City Council –member of the Barcelona Smart City team, she promoted the Barcelona Institute of Technology (BIT) and led new business models and PPP strategies to deploy Smart city projects in the city. She was responsible for the overall Smart City industry-city relationships.
Before, she worked at the Government of Catalonia, where she developed strategic planning tasks, as well as an evaluation methodology to assess the impact of R&D and Innovation policies. She also worked at the Studies Service at a Financial Institution, where she carried out economic research and financial analysis.
She studied Economics at the University of Barcelona and the London School of Economics (LSE) and holds an Executive Master in Public Administration (ESADE Business School).
She has published a paper on Assessing the Impact and Outcome of Innovation Public Policies for the American Evaluation Association (2011), is the author of the Catalonia’s Annual R&D and Innovation Report 2011 (2012) and co-wrote the 10 Year Rolling Agenda: Smart Cities as Catalysts for new Governance and Finance Models (European Commission, 2014).
She is member of the European Commission’s Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities, and member of the World Smart Cities Awards of the Smart City Expo and World Congress.
